I can't help but can tell you, the only time I've had to use a password for anything lately was to install updates or change settings. Used to have to enter it to wake up my computer as well. It doesn't bother me, but I'm curious as well what changed?

I'm not replying because I don't know the answer. If the OP wants a better chance of getting help, it would be a good idea to post the output of inxi -Fxz, as always. More information leads to better and faster replies. This is not exactly a new thought... or it shouldn't be.

Try checking Screensaver>Settings>Lock settings>Delay before locking
