How to add Blender 2.79 to the Cinnamon Menu?

Post by drpeppercan » Wed Aug 14, 2019 6:01 pm

I have tried using the cinnamon-menu-editor from the console, but nothing happens when I click on the shortcut showing in the main menu. Even though the Cinnamon Menu Editor will add the file seemingly with success to the main menu. This is the resulting path when I select the file:
/home/nitro/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Blender/Blender\ 2.79b.desktop

For now, I am using a link I made of that file.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys,
DPC

Should this be moved to a different forum?

I'm afraid that the point of installing Blender via Steam escapes me. Here'a a guide for the snap version:

Is Snap the type of installation that will automatically check for updates and update the program too?

Thanks HR :)
