Detect external TV connected with HDMI

Post by kwyrky » Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:27 am

When I have the TV connected and I start up Linux Mint shortly after the auto login what I have configured the external TV gets some kind of Signal or is detected by Linux Mint so that I see everything on the Notebook Monitor as well as the TV which is fine.

But when I have the Notebook already on and I connect the TV later it does not work the plug and play way. So does anybody know which signal gets send to the TV and or how the automatic detection works and if I can somehow trigger that by myself with some command? That would be really awesome!

It was a Funai TV. I got a new TV from LG and everything just works fine. So it never was an issue with linux mint itself but with the TV.
