USB Drive labled as 32gb. [SOLVED]

Post by muffybean » Sat Oct 19, 2019 5:21 pm

I have formatted a 32gb USB thumb drive in ext4 and I am using it as my backup medium for timeshift. First backup is 6gb. In the File Manager it is labled as 32gb; is it possible to lable it by another name? In FAT32 format I had it labled Lexar.

You can add or change a label using the disks application. Click on the drive you want, then on the partition you want and then the gears icon. Edit filesystem allows you to change the label.

Hi Andy, sorry not to get back to you sooner on this but I have been working on so many things, two desktop LM installs plus a netbook and a bout of illness. I do thank you for your advice and have bookmarked this for future reference.
