[Solved] Linux Mint 19.3 upgrade

Post by Orac137 »

Upgraded Linux Mint 19.2 to Linux Mint 19.3. It seems to be missing some of the programs that were part of the upgrade: GNote, Celluloid, Drawing, etc.
Did I miss a step in the upgrade?

Hi, Orac137.

Yes, you did miss the end of Clem's upgrade instruction: 4. Add packages (optional) near the end.

Karl

Thanks, I upgraded through the boot notification I got instead of following these steps.

Hi, Orac137.

Boot notification? :? - Could it be that what you call boot notification is actually the "System Report" notification on the right hand side of the bottom panel?
The black triangle with the exclamation mark? Where, after you have clicked on the triangle, "System Report" notifies about detected issues?
Issues like e.g. "Oh, a new Linux Mint release 19.3 is available, which you have not installed, yet"?
(No kidding. On my Mint 19.2 Cinnamon precisely this "problem" was reported by "System Report". Only the wording was slightly different.)

Cheers,
Karl

Yes. I just don't know all the terminology yet. Windows convert/refugee.
Again thanks for your help.

I missed those packages as well when I upgraded my Mac Mini from 19.2 Cinnamon to 19.3. Funny they were all included when I performed a new install of 19.3 Cinnamon on my MacBook Pro.

One other thing I noticed when I upgraded my Mac Mini (a part from the missing programs) was the main menu icon is still using the 19.2 version and not the circular version in 19.3.

MacBookPro9,2 running Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3 Intel Core i5-3210M CPU @ 3.20GHz, 8 GiB.
