Samsung SCX3405 Printer

Post by Franko36 »

Just installed Mint 19.3. Could only find drivers for SCX3200 which is supposedly suitable but the printed page has about 1" cut off the right side. Advice how to rectify this or if drivers specifically for SCX3405 on Linux exist would be appreciated? Thanks

Hello Franko36,

have a look at the following website. Your printer is listed under the supported devices.

Hi HAWR, Found specific drivers elsewhere but still have same problem. As bchemnet says Samsung have stopped updating. Thanks anyway

Okay, here is somewhat I've found:

Maybe the author can also help to get it running properly.

Couldn't use the site Thomas Uebel describes because there were no entries where he says. Maybe the site has changed? I can learn to live with that 1" from the right hand side of print. Thanks for your posts.

You could go into your printers settings and check to see if it has selected the correct page size. That maybe your problem.

Checked all the printer settings many times. Have downloaded the drivers from 4 different sources and still have same problem. Think I have the latest drivers and the part not printed on the R has now diminished to just over 1/2". I can live with that as Samsung have lost interest in updating drivers for Linux.
