Login problems

Post by pete051 »

This is a recent problem so I imagine it's related to an update. The computer boots normally in less than a minute but when the login screen appears the mouse is frozen and any input from the keyboard in impossible, this lasts for about a minute after which normal service is resumed, any ideas what's causing this?
Thanks
Pete

Hi,
Welcome to the forums.
~You need to give more information about your system.
A good start is the output to

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
What did you upgrade to and from what?
Xfce? Cinnamon? Mate?
19.1 to 19.2 to 19.3?
18.x?

Some applets don't like upgrades.
Disable your non-required startup items also.
Is Timeshift set to snapshot on boot?

Ok this is sorted, seems it wasn't OS related just a powered USB hub that had suddenly decided to confuse the BIOS so I lose a USB hub and gain a charging dock :)
