Is there a way to cancel PPAs? solved

running Cinnamon. Can I make it so that PPAs are not pert of the software The PC looks for?

you would have to remove that PPA from the software source list, in either the Update Manager or in Package Manager aka synaptic,

in both cases, you can simply UN-check that PPA, rather than actually removing it's entry in the list.

Sorry for the reply but where do I uncheck PPAs for Synaptic?

Open the Software Sources app from the menu to disable or remove PPAs and third party repos. That's also the tool to downgrade or remove 'foreign' packages..i.e packages installed from a now removed or disabled PPA or third party repo.
