What USB Mouse do you use for your LinuxMint ?

Post by hmsn001 »

I was curious what USB Mouse model are you guys using for your LinuxMint desktop machine?

I am using a Razer one but having lots of issues sometimes, lags with the mouse movement for instance.

Just curious what other folks here use as a USB Mouse that works fine on LinuxMint without the headaches of Razer for instance (where you have to install their Razer drivers and tool to manage the mouse)

Thank you!

A better question would be, "How do I fix my mouse?"
It's pronounced kad-eye-cha, not kada-itcha.

I have a USB wired mouse from Lenovo.
I assume it is some standard electronics on this thing. It has a mouse wheel.

I also have a bunch of other mices that I could try, if you want.
Is this my signature? Ask me about my Kubuntu and Linux Mint file. It is for noobs who want to configure Linux and make it into a pleasant Windows experience + add few applications, QT Creator, Eclipse, setup background, startup sound, log off sound.

i have mostly just plain old amazon basic wired mice on most all of my 9 machines. actually have a logitech on this particular laptop. i like the amazon basic mice just for the fact they're dirt cheap and do the job. they are 2 button mice with scroll wheel.

personally, i can't stand wireless mice.

Depending upon machine I use a variety of mice, wired and cordless. The one that gets the most use is a a "BE" brand cordless out of China. I have logitech, HP, and various other clone brand rodents and all behave in the same manner. Occasionally some slowdown in performance but, given that it occurs on all of my machines with all of my mice I have determined that it is a Kernel issue that is a minor annoyance to say the least. Given that it is most noticeable on the lower specced machines....you get the idea.

I'm using an old wireless m205 logitech mouse with Mint. Works great and have had no problems.

What ever happens to be attached to the computer I'm using. Looking around, a three Micro$ofts one of which is USB wireless, some, 3 at least, HPs, a Nortek in the Netbook bag. Not all attached at present but they will have been at sometime over the past month or so. All work OK. If a speed problem then into System Settings.

Any full size wireless mouse that uses cheap AA batteries instead of AAA. Currently a Logitech that was in a clearance sale so long ago that the shop accepted cash.

In a cold winter, way back before climate change, I wrapped it in fake fur and added a fluffy black nose. Sort of a koala instead of a mouse. It survived several premises moves and lashings of hand sanitiser. It also works by default in every useful operating system including Raspbian.

I had a big collection of mice with more than 2 buttons or one wheel and they all broke with very little use, no matter how expensive the brand.

Logitech M510 works fine with the USB dongle plugged in.

Logitech M557 works ok as well [no dongle - USB paired to the machine]; but, for a dual boot machine, I consistently had to remove / re-pair each time I switched from Win10 to LM19.3 and back again.

I use the same Logitech M525 wireless mice (mouses? meece?) I used in Windoze that use Logitech's Unifying Receiver (dongle). A single Unifying Receiver is able to pair up with up to six compatible Logitech devices, such as mice, keyboards, trackballs, etc.

I use these mice mostly because they are smaller than average and fit my hand far better than the normal sized boulders masquerading as mice. The left, right and wheel (center) click sand the scroll wheel work just fine in Linux without needing Logitech drivers, fortunately, since Logitech is notorious for not supporting Linux (mutter, mutter, mumble mumble). The only thing that doesn't work are the left and right tilt clicks on the scroll wheel which I don't miss since I never used them in Windwoes.

I use a standard USB Multilaser mouse, 2 buttons and 1 wheel. In fact it is a FC CE made in China with a new name put by the importer.
Plug and play, no mystery.

same here, I have 5 of them, one dedicated for each machine.
it is a PITA to move them around, and you risk loosing that tiny dongle.

I use a G502 Proteus Core. I have always used the internal memory, so it retained all the shortcuts I've used for years. I'm not sure if macros would work though.
