I'm a new use to Linux Mint, currently using 18.1. With the discussion regarding Mono, I don't see it in the menu of applications. Was it removed with 18.1? The only additional software I've installed is VMWare Player and Firejail for the 2 browsers Chrome and FireFox.

Mono itself doesn't show in the menu, because it's not an application, but an application platform.Executioner wrote:I'm a new use to Linux Mint, currently using 18.1. Thanks for the clarification. I now have it removed.

For the record, if you install an app that requires mono (for example, Pinta) it will get reinstalled. You will need to be vigilant to make sure any apps you install don't require mono.
