Mirroring Monitor Problem on Startup

Post by lqlarry »

I have a problem on startup with mirroring my laptop with my monitor, which is a TV. I have my laptop set to auto-login so I bi-pass the login screen. My TV's screen shows the panel and a desktop applet but no wallpaper or Plank, just a black screen. I have to open my laptop and then the screen on my TV comes up and mirroring with the laptop is perfect. Then I can close my laptop and everything is right with the world until I do a restart and then I have the same problem. Any Suggestions?

I've run different Linux DE's for years and never had this problem. Thanks for any help offered.

Nice wall of text. Pity it's all the wrong information.

We need the full output of inxi -Fxz, enclosed in code tags </>, not quote tags.
It's pronounced kad-eye-cha, not kada-itcha.
