I have installed Linux Mint 20 Ulyana with windows 10 on separate partition

Post by dbmatre »

Hello team,
I've installed Linux Mint 20 Ulyana along with windows 10 on separate partition. During initial set up I've found some errors and not able install any softwares now. I've used Tricia and it was working great but it was only os on laptop and I wanted windows as well so during this process I moved to Ulyana.

I've attached error SS for your reference. Could you please help me to resolve this error with some codes? If it's more complicated then I can move back to Tricia.

Thank you.

The evil rascal seems to be Vivaldi. In the > Software Sources, the Vivaldi source should look like this:

Software Sources (as superuser)_005.png

Maybe you can fix the incorrect entry with > Maintenance > Fix Merge List problems :

Software Sources (as superuser)_006.png

Otherwise, you should first delete Vivaldi completely and see if your system still issues error messages. I recently had a similar bug with Google Earth that was affecting my system's update management.

Please search for Vivaldi with the > Synaptic Package Manager:

Image

Does Vivaldi exist? If yes, highlight Vivaldi and right click on > Mark For Complete Removal, confirm with > Apply.

Thank you so much but in earlier scenario I couldn't get into synaptic manager.

I ran this command and it removed sudo dpkg --remove --force-all vivaldi-stable

As of now it's working now,let see how the entire set up process goes, thank you.
