(SOLUCIONADO)fragmented desktop screen

Post by Blass »

Hello install Linux mint 20 Mate on amd Ryzen 3 asus a320 motherboard pc. and when starting the fragmented desktop screen session cut into longitudinal stripes. If I reboot and enter the recovery mode, I use the fix broken packages option and then it's fine. but when turning the pc off and on again the same thing happens and the fragmented desktop screen returns.
I don't know how to solve it. Thank you for reading. Best regards

I quoted putting the inxi report in code tags for easier reading:

In the Graphics section I see the graphics driver isn't being loaded:
unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,radeon resolution: 1440x900~N/A
I'm not familiar with current radeon stuff unfortunately, so hopefully someone who has one will be able to provide assistance.

I also see you've installed/booted in Legacy mode. Not that it should make any difference, but wondering why not in UEFI mode?

Okay. But what I don't understand is how it works well after login after executing in safe mode reacting broken packages. Starting the system that way everything works perfect including the sound. But the repair that that process does, is lost when turning off. I'll see what happens if I change the legady mode to UEFI
Thank you very much. :D

It's worth re-posting the inxi report whilst the system appears to be working normally (i.e. after booting in "safe" mode, to see if that graphics driver is getting loaded.

With that I realized that I was missing the amdgpu driver and I looked for it here https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-635 and from there also follow the instructions there. Now it's perfect
Oh and I almost forgot!! a very ominous detail is the one that explains in this link https://blog.desdelinux.net/como-instal ... inux-mint/
