Running Linux Mint from USB-drive ?

Post by rufus0101 »

Hi.

I have seen a couple of posts/info about installing/running Mint 7 from a USB-drive. Anybody got this to work ? And is there an easy way to install it to the USB-drive and have the settings saved on the USB-drive ?

usb-creator is an easy tool to use. Should in in Synaptic Package Manager, you can choose to set up a space for persistent saving.

if you have access to a windows machine, check out the pendrive linux website

also if your pendrive has enough space upgrade the casper loop to 3-4 bg, the site explains it.

that is what i did, and is working fine

Found this link: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-linux- ... n-windows/ in order to create it from a Windows box.

If you have Mint or Ubuntu already running, install "usb-creator" with the Package Manager.
