[Solved] How to encrypt a USB flash drive & cryptsetup

Post by walterdowis »

Hi all,
I have cryptsetup installed. It came pre-installed with Linux Mint 20. I don't see in Disks how to encrypt a USB flash drive. How can I encrypt a USB flash drive in Linux Mint using Disk Utility, Gparted or Disks?
My OS is Linux Mint 20 with Cinnamon desktop.

I found the way to encrypt a USB drive. Bring up Disks. This is a utility that works with drives. Select the drive you want to work with. Unmount the drive. Click on the gears icon. Select "format partition". The encrypt option is located here.
