Re disabling -U, Debian has a rule that packages can't update themselves, which is in most cases a fine rule, but to get inxi packaged in Debian/Ubuntu, I had to add that ability to disable -U, no big deal, easy to undo if you want, the package won't as far as I know overwrite the config file so once you change it it should not require further updating. The ideal for distros that use inxi however is to just use the latest package for it, in mint's case, the package from unit193's ppa will work fine, never could figure out why distros that use inxi for support keep shipping totally out of date inxi versions that can't offer the desired support because they are missing fixes for new hardware, kernels, etc, along with just missing all the new stuff, but keeping all the old bugs, weaknesses, and failures, kind of zero benefit to keeping the old version to me.

That will be too, once I resize the / to claim unused space in /home which I made needlessly large, considering its usage. It is severely storage-starved having one of those 32GB eMMC  jokes  storage devices and no SATA header fitted. Only ½GB free on /

I can probably give / another ~6GB allowing space for the upgrades.

A single partition layout may be better for one of those eMMC jokes. inxi for Mint 19 and 20 isn't much newer than it was for 18.2, I really don't get why updates have been disabled because there's nothing that would cause stability issues for the distribution in there.
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

This would indeed have been better. The installation was really just an experiment to see if I could get a UEFI installation to work as I'd had no previous successful experience with that (had no other UEFI machines at the time except the Linx tablet).

Agreed! Maybe this will be changed in future Mint releases? I sort of understand Ubuntu's policy but in this specific case I don't really agree with it.
