upgrade and software package errors

First, I am not exactly a newbie. I do use Ubunto, GoS and Mepis linux.
For fun tonight I decided to try Linux Mint. Everything went fine and I was basically impressed.
After the install it told me I had "Updates" so opened the package manager and started to install. I get this.

So I decide to kick up your Software manager installed a few programs. Some of the programs, though, I get this

Got it! I just checked a few more deb packages and retried. Thanks for all the help.
