It's possible, and very easy. Although most apps should insert themselves into the menu.. It's odd if they aren't, but I really have no idea about that problem. To add items to the menu, call up Gnome-Do and type in "Main Menu". Now you should be able to maneuver through this GUI, using the "New Item" button to add new entries. Click on the submenu you want the app to be in, type in the name you'd like to show up in the menu, type in the command you want the menu entry to run, then click on the icon box to choose an icon. Simple!
