Videos on Picture in Picture Mode are Lagging on high resolutions

Hi guys
I am using Linux mint cinnamon 20.1
when i play videos on firefox on HD resolutions starting at 720 or higher while using picture in picture mode, the video is constantly lagging. but when i close the picture in picture mode the video runs smooth again
