Wireless drivers

Post by Gouki »

Hello, i can't get my wirelles USB working... its model is Airlive wn-370usb.
i've tried a lot of things to get it working, like installing drivers from github, installing official drivers using Ndiswrapper, nothing works and even the light is not blinking. Secure boot is disabled, my modules report : its interesting that it says in modules(i reinstalled mint to delete all former drivers) r8169, and its empty,
on my inxi it says RTL8188SU, but on the official driver download from their website it's 8192su, now which driver should i use and install to get this working, its driving me nuts for a couple of days now.

Please post the results for each of the following commands. Here is how:

Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the following commands, one at a time.

Code: Select all

mokutil --sb-state

Code: Select all

rfkill list

Code: Select all

 iwconfig

Code: Select all

lsusb

Code: Select all

 lspci
Mark the complete text output which each command will display with your mouse.

The results will help us to help you.

Re: Wireless drivers

Post by GS3 »

Relevant information is USB Realtek RTL8188SU, chip ID: 1b75:8171

I could not find a Linux driver online for it. Maybe someone else can help.

It seems difficult to find Linux drivers for RTL8188XX (CU, EU, SU, etc).
Please do not use animated GIFs in avatars because many of us find them distracting and obnoxious. Thank you.

I agree, that device doesn't seem to be supported in linux, far as I know. I'd suggest getting a different usb adapter.

I appreciate all answers, thank you.
How isn't it working with Ndiswrapper, i have no idea.

Code: Select all

mokutil --sb-state: EFI variables are not supported on this system

rfkill list: nothing comes up

iwconfig:enp8s0 no wireless extensions.

usb0 no wireless extensions.

lo no wireless extensions.
