I think it started when a window was oversided as to be offscreen a bit, and I right-clicked it in the taskbar and selected "Move to Workspace Down". I tried the other options such as Resize.
I think I figured out how to get all my windows on the main Workspace (I only ever want to use just one).
But now sometimes a window will display nothing but the title bar. I won't be able to expand it. Closing and re-opening it sometimes resolves this.
Any advice, please? I'd love to have windows I can see on just one workspace.

Re: title-bar-only windows
No info to go on.
See here:

but this sounds like a compiz issue. The missing title bar items are named
'Windows Decorations'.
Give us the inxi for more focused help

Re: title-bar-only windows
This used to happen to me by accident a lot. Try placing the mouse pointer over the title bar and scrolling down with the mouse wheel.

Re: title-bar-only windows
Go to Menu (start) and choose CompizConfigSettings.
Accept the warnings and scroll down to the Effects area.
Is Windows Decorations enabled?
I have personally seen this happen in a few occasions.
I temporarily changed windows managers, and then changed back to
Compiz and the problem seems to go away for months--nothing repeatable.

Re: title-bar-only windows
It's not really clear what you're experiencing here but if you don't have a mouse wheel, maybe you are right-clicking on the title bar and somehow accidentally selecting Roll Window Up.
In which case you could try right-clicking on the title bar again and selecting Roll Window Down
EDIT: Another possibility - go to your Window Manager settings in the main menu. On the Advanced tab you might find you have the Double click action set to "Shade window" instead of the default "Maximise window".
