Case fans running full speed

Post by ratpizza »

Okay, so I recently made the switch from windows to linux (no-dual-boot, only Linux), unfortunately the case fans now seem to go at full speed constantly even when temp is low. I tried to search this forum and the web for some way to set up a fan-profile that adjusts fan-speeds according to temp but there doesn't seem to an easy way to do this. There is apparently some app called "Imsensors" or something but it does seem a bit complicated and somewhat risky? Anyone have any suggestion what I should do?

Is there a fan setting in your BIOS? I turned down my fans from the BIOS. Unfortunately Linux really lacks an easy fan speed control method.
