This is my first cry for help, so fingers crossed.
I am running GIMP 2.10.18 on Linux Mint 20.1. After watching a YouTube video that caught my eye, I tried downloading and installing the plugin Resynthesizer (the one that belongs in Filters-Enhance NOT Resynthesize in Filters-Map). In particular, I’m dead keen on plugin-heal-selection in Resynthesizer. I’ve tried both running the command sudo apt-get install gimp-resynthesizer and downloading from GitHub. The heal-selection plugin is not to be found in Filters-Enhance. Can anyone help me please? The plugin is better explained in this video from Davies Media. Note, I think his version is Windows.

I gave up trying to find that plugin as well.
However, if you download the app image, the "heal-selection plugin" comes with the package..

Go to gimp-forum.net.
In this posting user Rich has packed the files he got from his flatpak installation together. (They can be used for apt-installation, too)
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Resyn ... 6#pid22856
(at the bottom of that posting).
Put the 10 files in your plug-ins directory, make sure they are executable.
Good luck - works fine here - GIMP 2.10.24

Re: Resynthesizer for Gimp 2.10.18 on Mint 20.1
Success (at least a partial success). I tried it on one of my photos and the following error message appeared.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/app/lib/gimp/2.0/python/gimpfu.py", line 740, in response
dialog.res = run_script(params)
File "/app/lib/gimp/2.0/python/gimpfu.py", line 361, in run_script
return apply(function, params)
File "/home/ian/.var/app/org.gimp.GIMP/config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/plugin-heal-selection.py", line 148, in heal_selection
pdb.plug_in_resynthesizer(timg, tdrawable, 0,0, useBorder, work_drawable.ID, -1, -1, 0.0, 0.117, 16, 500)
error: procedure not found
Not sure what I did wrong.
To be honest, it’s not really bothering me that much. It would just have been interesting to see the Plug-in in action.
After watching another YouTube video tutorial (from Parker Photographic this time) I tried using his method using Clone and Heal ("basic" Gimp tools) with impressive results. It was a bit more labour intensive, but worth the effort.

Maybe the impending stable release of Gimp 3.0 will include all the Plug-ins.
