Update manager problem

My laptop update icon in the systray shows an X when I initiate checking for update I go to refresh and a number of files appear followed by:-

An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. 
GPG error: https://repo.skype.com/deb stable InRelease: The following signatures were invalid: 
EXPKEYSIG 1F3045A5DF7587C3 Skype Linux Client Repository <se-um@microsoft.com>
Failed to fetch https://repo.skype.com/deb/dists/stable/InRelease

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I cant figure this out and the downside is my laptop show a cross and too me this tells me I am unprotected. is there a solution too this? I use Cinnamon 19.1

Thanks but that did not help as it refers to mint 20.2 cinnamon upgrading, I use 19.2 and I am a relativity new Mint user so if my request seems naive that is the reason.

in both cases, the issue is a missing / invalid PGP key on the skype repository.

You'll have to wait for microsoft to get their act together and re-sign with a new key (assuming they haven't already).

Thanks for that but I have removed Skype.
