Black screen after login from suspend

Post by napalmpapalam »

Hi, guys, I’ve installed Mint with xfce desktop two days ago on my old laptop and got an issue, that if I woke up from suspend and then login I got the black screen and nothing happens there, after reboot everything is okay.

Sleep mode works well on Windows 10 that have been installed near Linux Mint.

I’ve tried to move on other kernel versions, such as 5.8, 5.11, but it doesn’t help.

Tried this answer https://askubuntu.com/a/1041397/1110424

But it doesn’t help me too:(

There is my inxi -Fxxxrz

hey and welcome to the forum and linux mint. just based of your hardware 05/19/2016 first suggestion go back to the lts kernel 5,4. 5,8 and the one your using atm 5,11 is for really new hardware. Second check your bios and turn of fast boot if possible and secure boot if not disabled. Sleep mode(hibernation) in linux is a bit tricky its 50/50 if it works.
how to chance kernel: during boot press the tab key until you get to a grub menu, from there i think its under advanced in there you can choice what kernel you want to boot with.
good luck
CPU AMD Ryzen 9 7900
Graphic Card: AMD ATI Radeon RX 7900 XT/7900 XTX/7900M
Ram 32 GB ddr 5
Kernel: 6.5.0-14 generic
LM Cinnamon 21.3 edge

I don't have fast boot option in the BIOS, also I wrote that in the BIOS can be some options, such as: "GPU...Hibernate", and nothing of this I has :(
