Enable Double click persistent grab until release

Post by rajeevrdev »

I just installed Linux Mint 20.2 . One feature I enjoy the most is double click to grab or select and its not released until I click again. This makes selecting long paragraphs easy as I can release after double click and move to the position I want and release it and text till that point will be selected. But I dont see any option to enable it in mouse settings.

I used to enable this using a single line of code that was run on startup. But unfortunately I do not remember it and I have formatted that system. Does anyone know how to enable it?

Try like this:
Highlight the text you need. That loads it to the clipboard automatically.
Then go to the destination and middle-click (press the scroll wheel down)
That pastes the text.
On my laptop's touchpad middle-click is a two-finger tap

You can also drag the highlighted text by holding Ctrl key
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.
