[Solved] Reporting an observation about non-working suspend mode

[Solved] Reporting an observation about non-working suspend mode

Observation of Linux Mint (LM) Cinnamon Edge 20.1 on
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA502 (model GA502IV-WS74 ), 16 GB.

$ uname -a
Linux <usename> 5.11.0-25-generic #27~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 13 17:41:23 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Order of graphics driver install and uninstall:
1) Initially with Nouveau driver, suspend mode works.
2) I then installed Nvidia-driver-470, suspend mode works.
3) Then i also update kernel to 5.11.0-25-generic, suspend mode works
4) Then later, I uninstalled Nvidia-driver-470, and switched to Nouveau driver.
Suspend mode stopped working.
5) After much frustrating trouble shooting this problem,
I re-installed Nvidia-driver-470, suspend mode works.

And I suspect the problem may be related to Nouveau driver and the new updated kernel interactions.

Suspend is in general buggy and the reason to each system can be different as it interferes with many things.
But of course your observation is useful for people with nvidia cards.
