Hey experts,
Why are you bothering with Wine at all? Why not teach him to use VB or dual-boot from the outset?

Because getting proper FULL performance/power graphics card support in Virtual Box is a nightmare at best...impossible for most. VB severely limits the gpu's vram usage/allowance within the VM. Yes I've seen few figure out ways to over ride that or hack it, but it's just not something for VM noobs.

Dual boot? *facepalm* Seriously. If you have to dual boot to enjoy gaming, you're better off just building a separate entire PC having Windows on it. Dual booting ( as in installing Linux and Windows into the same physical storage drive) = you're begging for a possible rabbit hole of problems. It's just not worth headaches and hassles. Separate PC with Windows on it would be a more ideal situation and keeping the two PC's separate would ensure one's sanity and data remain safe.

Valorant tech related such as Valorant or League of Legends
Microsoft Flight Simulator ( for obviously reasons)
...SOME...Epic games ( although that Heroic Launcher is getting better and better. My thanks to Chris Titus Tech for his content involving that)
Any games requiring Anticheat tech just to run.

If any or all of the above apply to you, then as of the time of my posting this comment 9-21-21 late evening....Linux isn't ready to support any or all of these titles/scenarios yet.
