Hello,
I am using Linux Mint since a while on my Laptop. Recently, sometimes after boot my keyboard and touchpad do not react at all, so that I can't even log in. Only option is to turn off and boot again - after doing it around 3 times for no apparent reason it works for a while. This is pretty random but I got this more frequently since some time.
Does anyone has an idea where I can start digging?
Thanks in advance, any advice appreciated!

Hello, can you please post your system information? This can be found in the system reports application, on the tab system information. You can copy it from there and paste it into your next post.
This information is needed for pretty much any question about your system, so it's a good habit to post it straight away.

Re: After boot, sometimes keyboard and touchpad do not react
I have the same problem, but only on a wakeup from Suspend, and only on one of my computers. If I reboot the keyboard always works. I have fooled myself into thinking that I can reduce the incidence of this to about 10% of the time if I turn the monitor on first, then push a key on the keyboard to wake up, and then immediately and repeatedly left click the mouse many times while moving the mouse around. Even when the keyboard fails, I at least get the sign-in box displayed. It used to fail and sometime not even display the sign-in box, though the keyboard icon and other sign-in screen this would display.shevek wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 18, 2021 9:54 am Hello,

Re: After boot, sometimes keyboard and touchpad do not react
Yes, I can't quite put the finger on it, but when booting after a longer time it seems to happen, but not always. If I shut down by shortly pushing the power button, and the immediately after boot normally, it tends to work.
Mysteries, mysteries...
I don't know even where to start looking for the problem

Re: [SOLVED] After boot, sometimes keyboard and touchpad do not react
Just to let you know that I haven't encountered this for quite a while, so it must have been something which was fixed.
Re: [SOLVED] After boot, sometimes keyboard and touchpad do not react
If we had to guess (which based on the lack of info, we do!), I would think that you *may* have gotten a kernel update since your problem existed that resolved the problem. It *could* have also been some other program or library... but a kernel is more likely.
If you get the chance, posting your system info (inxi report) again would be useful. While we can't guarantee that it would point us exactly to what was causing your issue, it could at least give us a little info? Always useful to have this data in case someone else comes along with a similar problem?
