Configure a second monitor

Guys, tell me please, laptop asus g731. I could not find the second monitor, I tried to connect it through xrandr, there are 2 video cards in the laptop, I think because of this difficulty. I will be glad to help. thanks

The graphics drivers for Intel are included in the kernel and you do not need to install other drivers. It appears you installed an "intel" driver package and that may be causing problems.

The driver I marked in red should say modesetting and not intel.

Remove the intel driver package you installed and then reboot and give us the output of inxi -Gx.

If you still have your installation usb/dvd, you can boot to a live session of Mint and run the inxi -Gx command to see the driver is supposed to be modesetting.

Once you get that driver correct, try the external monitor again.

If it does not work, then you will need to install and properly load the Nvidia driver to get the external monitor to work. We can explain more about that once you finish making the other changes.
