hi ricardogroetaers.
There is something wrong with the img uploader. Disks adds this info:
partitioning Master boot Record
60gb 12gb free 80% full
partition type linux ext4 v1

Code: Select all

lsblk -f
sdc
└─sdc1 ext4 64_GB 51442b71-4aea-ETC /media/mint/64_G
Last but not least i want to thank deck_luck for helping me in the first place. From an expected total loss of data i ended with 80% recovery!

Sorry, but did you copy and paste the command output correctly? This UUID is atypical for an ext4 volume.

Or something has been changed on this flashstick drive, for example a write by a data recovery program.
If the program wrote to this drive, this is a good sign.

If you want and think it is useful to try to see the contents of the drive, I ask:
-> Insert the "flashdisk" drive into the computer.
-> Command output:
sudo parted -l
lsblk -f

If you have already recovered the data, we can try "formatting" this drive.

Hi ricardogroetaers, sorry for the confusing this 'ETC' is just something i added. Not wanting to publish the complete UUID, don't take it personal.

Code: Select all

sudo parted -l
a blinking cursor is all that happens. After 15 minutes i wanted to quit: ctrl c didn't react, had to Alt F4 to close the terminal.

Code: Select all

lsblk -f
isn't changed

I noticed when shutdown the pc with the 64g inserted it will stuck at the LM logo 'forever'. Only when i pull the 64G out the pc shuts down.

Just format it to FAT OR ext4? Best by cli?

Hi Pepper-Mint-Patty,

Nothing personal, if any part of my text glimpsed this hypothesis it was due to the translation software. I don't know the English language.

Crashing commands and not shutting down the system with the "flashdisk" inserted could mean device defect.
Please disable the automatic mounting of removable media before inserting the "flashdisk" (see picture).
Try repeating the commands.

As to what filesystem format you will use for the flashdisk is up to you.
