[SOLVED] unable to install proprietary drivers from Canon for pixma mg2522

Post by Allewyn2 »

For PIXMA MG2522
I looked on the Canoon sie:
Drivers & Downloads
Operating System Linux (64bit)
Language (Eng)
DriversSoftwareFirmwareUtilitiesSDK
There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
Since it says I may not need a driver, I checked the following:

"dave@dave-MS-7B86:~$ sudo systemctl status cups
[sudo] password for dave:
● cups.service - CUPS Scheduler
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/cups.service; enabled; vendor preset: >
Active: active (running) since Thu 2021-10-14 13:01:02 PDT; 18min ago

● cups.path

My printer has been working but is not aligned properly. I wanted the Canon drivers to set it up. It's not setting up pages right. I'm missing the bottom edges. So far, no dice. Any suggestions?

I will try installing drivers from the canon site in the UK. It worked for someone else as a .deb package. We'll see.
