Hello, Squibbs.

Please, be so kind to share the complete error message, as it is displayed to you, not a transscript in your own words.

About the software package firefox version "93.0+linuxmint1+uma":
This is only the Linux Mint specific version string. So your interpretation is based on a complete misunderstanding.

Regards,
Karl

The "93.0+linuxmint1+uma" in the filename means:
- this is Firefox 93.0
- it's the 1st build by Linux Mint (if there is some small issue in the build, a linuxmint2 might be released for example)
- and it is built for Uma, Linux Mint 20.2 -- the Linux Mint version you have

If there is a message that the file is too large it means your root partition is almost full. You need to fix that now; if you let it fill up entirely you may no longer be able to log in to Linux Mint.

Try if you have Disk Usage Analyzer in your menu, and use that to confirm how full your root (/) partition is. Or open a terminal and run this command:
dh -hT
Copy the output of the command and share it here for help confirming (you can select all and copy text through the terminal's Edit menu).

Most common thing I've noticed ( via reading what the more experience Linux users here have helped others involved this problem with ) is that the core cause often is one of two things as to why the root partition is close to or full.

1. timeshift backups being auto-directed/targeting the root partition ( Yes..I agree this default built in setting MUST change as it makes no sense to do a timeshift backup be it automated or manually to the same drive that your booting your Operating System from. Always target a completely separate drive for backups if at all possible)

2. A person did the " something else" option during Linux Mint installation and manually set a small size for the root ( such as 20GBs or even less)

=== I'm almost willing to bet it's the 1st of these two possibilities. ==

See how many timeshift backups you have..

View your / ( aka root directory) in your Nemo/Caja/Thunar file manager ( nemo for cinnamon, caja for mate, and thunar for xfce desktops). You might be able to right click on the folder itself and see how much space it shows it is consuming ..BUT ..regardless better to see how many snapshots are inside that folder as well as viewing how many the Timeshift gui shows.

If you have more than 5...I recommend you decide which ones are most recent and/or tried and true " ok I KNOW everything works where" and delete the rest. Delete it using the Timeshift gui first, then see what you have to work with beyond that.
