Missing Network Connection Icon in System Tray

Postby autoexec.bat » Sun Nov 22, 2009 1:18 pm

So I've been running Linux Mint 7 on a Dell Mini 9 for few months now and love it. I am not a newbie to linux by any means, but this is definitely a noobish question:

I was playing around with the panels configurator and somehow my Network Connections icon disappeared from the system tray. I have clock, eyeballs, battery meter still there, but I can't find a way to make the network connections icon show up again. It's not a problem when I'm at home because it still connects automatically, but when I travel I am not able select any other wireless networks so I need to get it fixed before too long.

Any help is appreciated!

I have had that happen before - but never knew how to get it back - I ended up re-doing the system. THere must be a way though.

I also must say that there are a number of icons. wireless with the bars, the 2 computers icon, and another one if i am not mistaken. I had the issues with the wireless bars icon. Never could find out how to get that back.

Right-click the panel, Add to panel, Notification Area :)
