[SOLVED] Pulseaudio is interrupted randomly

Post by berndhae »

Hello, I am green as I can be. And I try to write English.

I can emulate the Sound/Video effect of the problem by right clicking on Pulseaudio in System Monitor, then "Stop Process" and "Continue Process" in quick succession. That's how the random problem sounds and looks while playing back Web-Video in Browser or video-file in Celluloid.
Distribution default setting for Pulseaudio is Nice: -11 and Priority: Very High. It's the only process not "Normal" Priority.
I tried "Change Priority" "custom" Slider to Nice: -20. Didn't help.

I had this problem years ago with the same PC (Mintbox 2) and an earlier Linux Mint. I solved it and was lucky until some weeks ago the drive crashed. I remember loosely the solution was something with the priority? Setting processes higher or lower? Making the change permanent? Mint looks different today, so my memory does not fresh up.
