Updating VLC Luac Files

Post by Hexeta »

Having problems downloading YT Videos and suspect the Luac File needs updating.
I've done this in W10, but need to know the file path to the Luac folder, or indeed if it is possible to achieve this in Linux Mint

From my notes,
1)Copy code from https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/ma ... outube.lua

2)Copy that code to a text editor.

3)Save as youtube.luac

4)Rename and move existing youtube.luac found in:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/playlist/
to home folder just in case of problems.

5)Move the new youtube.luac to playlist directory shown above

No warranty or guarantee, that's why step 4) exists ;)
