too many password requests

Post by evan » Mon Nov 30, 2009 1:12 am

i have two hard drives. one has windows xp (C drive), the other linux mint 8 (D drive). now while in linux, i can access the hard drive that has windows installed on it, but it requires me to mount it by double clicking and entering my password. this hard drive houses all of my music, pictures, etc, so i use it nearly every time i use my computer. the need to mount it and enter a password every time i start my computer gets very tedious.

*my question is: how can i set it so i dont have to mount the C drive every single time i start linux?*

also, when i place a shortcut to the "my documents" folder located on the C drive on my linux desktop, it disappears on the next startup as well. same solution?

thanks for all replys!

p.s.- totally new to linux, but im loving it compared to windows!
