Two questions.
1. KDE had Krunner. You start typing for example Fire.. and FireFox is suggested, and you can start it. Does Cinnamon have something similar?
2. If I just start typing on the desktop, what I type pops up in the lower right corner of the screen. What is that.? Can't find that in any searches.

2. is the index search in linux mint hardly use it, so can tell if/ does work.

#1 Yes, as part of the menu. Press Super and type. In case of FF you can also use terms like browser or web.
#2 It is a search function. You can find objects, which are currently possibly hidden by open windows. After pressing Enter they get opened / launched.
