Printing will not allow multiple pages

Post by Stormdrainer »

I use Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon (5.0.7). The kernel is 5.4.0-121-generic. As the heading says, the problem I have is that if I try to print more than one page, I still get just a single page. Can anyone help please? Am I failing to do something or is it a bug. Until recently it used to work fine.

Printing what? Office document? Which type? Something else? What exactly?
Which steps do you use? This question is for reproducing the issue.

I'm going to jump in here, just in case my printing issue stems from a similar thing to Stormdrainer's.

I have a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet that prints on exactly one page. I regularly print 5 copies of this document. Except the print multiple copies function does not work. I can tell the print dialog to print 5 copies, but one comes out and the system (LibreOffice->printer driver->LM->printer) says printing is complete. This behavior also occurs with Text Editor, so I think we can absolve LIbreOffice.

I have Hplip (HP LInux Printing and Imaging System) installed through Software Manager. Other configuration as follows:

I can print a single multi-page document just fine.

I hope I'm not hijacking Stormdrainer's thread.

@Catsbark
I'm glad to say that your experience is unusual. On my machine it prints any number of copies of the single page Calc printout that I specify. I use LO 7.3.4.2 Flatpak.

Just for grins, open Printers, click on check mark (completed jobs), what does it say. Here is mine:

Not an unusual problem.

I have one computer with that problem at the Shed. LibreOffice, you hit "Print", there is a panel with options for prinitng the pages i.e. 1-4 or 3 etc, and under that MORE. Click on that and "Number of copies" appears. Except it doesn't on one computer.
As far as I know, got to check it, both have the same version. An OK version here is running 6.4.7.2

@kato181:

Placing links in a code box is a bad idea, because this makes links (by design) unclickable. I suggest you edit your post and remove the code tags.
