Post by TragicEmbyrs »

I've installed Mint Cinnamon 20 (Edge) and now using Mint 21 Cinnamon.

When using this https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... -mint.html guide to speed up mint I get these errors:

The messages "Possible missing firmware" are not errors but warnings (accent on 'possible') and usually refer to firmware for the hardware which hasn't present on your system. Safely to ignore. AMD developers like their false start.

Warning again, can be ignored. Probably you can make changes you would like and the save the file.

Thanks for your advice. I'll ignore the warnings.

Just as a note if you're into searching for those bin files I found a link. I have an ASUS ROG G15 R9 had same issues, solved most of them
but if the downloading files doesn't work then the system might be seeing the bin files as html, meaning you got a link not the actual file
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... ree/amdgpu
there's also
unofficial-amdgpu-firmware-repo-main.zip

It is not an issue if there is a specific firmware for your GPU. You can't have all those adapters installed simultaneously. Messages "W: Possible missing firmware" should be ignored.
