Libinput vs. Synaptics driver....palm detection?

Post by darkstrike »

Hi all - with my recent install of Mint 21 MATE, I've now noticed that even the SLIGHTLY touch of my touchpad on my Lenovo ThinkPad T520 while typing makes the computer think I've clicked and constantly screws me up.

I used to use the Synaptics driver on my old HP laptop. How do do I adjust the touch sensitivity / palm detect on the touchpad with libinput and have the settings stay on boot?

Thanks!

In system settings--mouse and touchpad ,there is a setting to disable touchpad when you type. Tey it and test.

I have it turned on, but it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. I know with the synaptics driver before, I actually had to create a file that ran on boot to adjust several touchpad settings every time the computer started.

There should be a time setting in the "disable touchpad while typng" bit, try increasing that.
