Re: Initramfs Error Linux Mint 18
Mint 18 is end of life so what I'd advise is download a newer build (19.3 or above) that is still supported using another machine if you have one or access to one. Create a bootable drive (either USB or optical media depending on what your machine has available to boot from).
Start your affected computer with that live media and use it to transfer your important documents from your existing installation to a big enough writeable external USB drive (not the media you are booting from) or the cloud. Then do a clean install of Mint 19.3 or above. Mint 20.3 would be the sweet spot right now if your machine will work with it.

I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

If I load the new os from cd and run it the boot completes ok. When I change the boot order from cd to hdd the error re-appears.

OK, I cleared that up and downloaded 21 to an sd card. How to mark this subject closed?
