duplicated sound from tv card

Postby flo » Mon Jul 09, 2007 9:22 am

With big struggle i installed my tv card (pixelview playtv pro ultra) connected by cable to linein input in my sb live 5.1 soundcard with commands:
sudo rmmod tuner
sudo rmmod cx8800
sudo rmmod cx88xx
sudo modprobe cx88xx card=12 tuner=28 i2c_scan=1 (no sound with card=27)
sudo modprobe cx8800.
Everything was ok until i pressed record button in fm-radio application installed from synaptic. After this everytime i use those commands i hear sound from my tv card not only in linein but also in pcm output in alsa mixer.
I've no idea what happend and what to do to disable "this feature" in my cassandra. Please help, i'm newbie in linux!!!

Welcome to Mint flo
It seems to be not only in Vista creative is "a bit" problematic :)
Do you use both line and pcm?
If not, click on the speaker icon at the bottom of alsa mixer and you mute it.
Post back if it doesn't help
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I had this problem in windows but not in Linux MInt.
In windows the TV viewing program was using the wrong setting.
I fixed it by changing the Audio settings to use Line in instead.
I not in Linux Mint at the moment and don't have any TV apps installed on Linux Mint.(had to make room for making the XFCE Community Edition)
I hope this helps.
