I have installed gimp several times but cannot find the application or its run icon!
If I go to the search bar in applications and type in Gimp up it comes so I know that it is installed
however I want to have a icon to use when selecting GIMP.
Can someone give me the answer please!

go to the search bar in applications and type in Gimp, and then right-click it. Now you get a number of options to put another icon where you want it, or if you are on Cinnamon you can try to drag/drop at that time.
