Hey there,
As the title says, I recently installed LM 21 (Vanessa), Xfce, replacing Ulyssa Xfce, and I noticed that with that new version, I've lost close to 2 hours of battery life. My computer could run for 4H before that upgrade and now 2h is the best I can get so I'm thinking of downgrading to the version it was before as battery life is important for me unless there might be a solution to this issue
Have you noticed a similar decrease on your system or may know the reason of such a difference ?

Re: Battery life decreased after installing Mint 21
Indeed, that's the first thing I did and saw no improvement.
But I reinstalled the previous version, Ulyssa, I was using and everything went back to normal
Actually, I not only lost half of my battery installing LM 21 but the boot time almost doubled too and some minor bugs like the shutdown button which couldn't be used anymore. Going back to Ulyssa solved all these problems. Everything worked great under Ulyssa, it was my mistake to upgrade. I'm not a computer specialist but I think LM21 might be taking much more resources and for the few improvements that were done, I don't think it's worth it, at least not for me. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. So I'll stick with Ulyssa until 2025 anbd hopefully until then, maybe improvements on battery life and boot time would have been done. Thanks for reaching out.

Please elaborate on that if you would. And I hope you don't say you can't use it to shutdown anymoreand some minor bugs like the shutdown button which couldn't be used anymore.

Re: Battery life decreased after installing Mint 21
I had created another topic regarding the shutdown issue when I was still on LM 21 because the shutdown button was greyed out and I couldn't turn it off through the menu. Of course, I could still force a shutdown using the physical button which I did but that issue is now solved since I reinstalled the version I used before which doesn't cause me any trouble
