Hi
Just installed AnyDesk to a recently created Mint system, and my friend is trying to connect to me from his Windows 11 laptop.
But he gets this error: desk_rt_ipc_error
Any Ideas? Thanks
EDIT: Tried disabling firewall, still no luck.
AnyDesk can't connect

Welcome to the forum.
You did run a search from your fave search engine?
What have you tried apart from disabling firewall?
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1334611 ... c-manually
or
https://www.somehelpwith.com/11/deskrti ... gh-anydesk
or if that isn't the answer

Re: AnyDesk can't connect
this won't help you, but I found "anydesk' to be worthless.
uninstalled it.
I went back to TeamViewer, it has always worked for me.

Re: AnyDesk can't connect
Teamviewer no longer supports the free version, if you do a reset password it doesn't send the link to do it.I switched to RustDesk, it's similar to teamviewer, it's free and it is much faster. It's available for all O/S.

Re: AnyDesk can't connect
it has been over a year since I needed it, to help friends.
but, last summer I was trying to help my sister who is 1500 miles from my home....
While I was there, I noticed that free TeamViewer did not install the way it used to, would not allow me to have Admin rights like it used to....
can't sign in unless they bring it up and we talk on the phone....
didn't investigate the why, just installed LM20.3 and called it a day.
she is on LM20.3 now,
hubby is still on Win10 and won't let me change it, even though it screws him over every time he tries to find something.
Re: AnyDesk can't connect
Hehehe.
I used TV for years but it's total crap now, slow when it works and trying to do password reset just doesn't work. Try RustDesk, you won't regret it.

Re: AnyDesk can't connect
I hadn't heard of RustDeck. Thanks for that.
Have you tried the web version, which is a BETA?
And can you point me to any user manuals or guides or good websites about it?
