Linux Mint does not come with KDE Plasma. What do you have installed that you are seeing KDE Plasma?Display_name wrote: ⤴Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:29 pm When i boot up i was able to change if i want KDE or just default graphic version.

Re: Dummy output, no input devices
Timeshift is installed when one installs Linux Mint, but it does not run unless you tell it to run. If you did not run it before this happened then, no, you will not have Timeshift snapshots.Display_name wrote: ⤴Tue Feb 07, 2023 7:57 am When i fix those probelms i'll install it, thanks. But

Please give us information about your install by entering this command in a terminal:
Code: Select all
inxi -Fxxxrz
</>
from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply and then place your cursor between the code tags and paste the results of the command between the code tags
Results
. This will let us know how Mint sees your hardware.A woman typing on a laptop with LM20.3 Cinnamon.

Re: Dummy output, no input devices
I discovered why i wasn't able to install wine. Its because if i copy and paste the codes it won't work, i have to write them.

Re: Dummy output, no input devices
You installed KDE. You decided to make a custom version of Linux Mint so the ability of others to help you decreases dramatically.
Your system lists Linux Mint 21.1, but I see packages which should be higher versions if one is running Linux Mint 21.1. How are you updating your system?
What version of Linux Mint did you install originally?
SGX usually is disabled by the BIOS. There is nothing wrong with having it disabled.Display_name wrote: ⤴Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:13 am When i boot up i see some errors i forgot to say this. It says sgx disabled by bios and some more stuff.
The ACPI BIOS errors are also not a problem.
The "platform device creation failed" line would seem to indicate there might be an issue with the TPM device or setting in your computer's BIOS/UEFI.
Are you dual-booting with Windows?

Re: Dummy output, no input devices
I don't know how KDE handles sound so someone else would have to help you.
In Linux Mint, all three of the below should be running. They normally start automatically when the computer boots.

Ok, thanks for hellping, so now we wait someone who knows how kde audio works.
Re: Dummy output, no input devices
+1. It's a very bad idea. Multiple desktops often cause problems, and more importantly it makes these problems a lot harder to diagnose. A backup and clean reinstall is usually the best way to fix things.SMG wrote: ⤴Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:42 pmLinux Mint does not come with KDE Plasma. In addition, while askubumtu is a great source, that link you posted from there is 8 years old. Linux doesn't have a lot of backwards compatibility, so old links are trouble.
I use MX KDE on my main box, I'm a fan. But if you really do like KDE I'd suggest using a desktop that supports it, unless you're an expert who doesn't need support. MX is Debian based so you get older software than Mint or Ubuntu and ppas are NOT recommended in Debian. If you prefer a Ubuntu base try Kubuntu or Neon.
