dial-up connection

Postby Eli Puss » Fri Jul 20, 2007 1:20 am

Hi how do I set a dial-up internet connection in Mint 3.0. P.S. I have dynamic
I.P address. I am proficient in XP but know nothing at all about Linux. I have a HP Pavillion zt1000 with an internal modem and I need to know things like
which port to use, such as dev/modem, tty/0, etc. Thanks, Eli.

the answer is gnome-ppp.

download gnome-ppp.deb on another computer.
copy it to you linux mint computer desktop and double click on it to install it.
once installed look in the menu for it.
if it is not there use the menu-> administration-->menulist
look through the different section and when you find it put a tick in the box next to it.
now it should be in the menu (if not logout and login again)
now from the menu drag the icon to the bar at the bottom to create a shortcut.

here is another post about it:

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
