[Solved] Total Record

Postby dayrider47 » Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:19 pm

Linux is not windows - but I have to use windows as a reference to ask questions - I am interested in finding a flexible mp3 audio recorder that can be used to capture streaming audio - does linux have a similiar package as the Total Recorder people do for windows - thanks - mps

Refer to long documetation at site: http://polishlinux.org/apps/multimedia/ ... -in-linux/

In short use apps like

RipperX
Sound-juicer
Grip
k3b

with the LAME or FLAC encoder

If I understood the question correctly,then Audacity is what you need.
You can record from a variety of sources,including Internet streams.The output can surely be ranging from .mp3 to .wav or .flac,provided you have the necessary codecs installed.
The application is in the Software Manager.
MB:MSI 770 C-45 / HD1:500 GB-->Windows / HD2:320 GB-->Mint 18 Cinnamon
CPU:AMD X4 640 3.00 GHz / RAM:4.0 GB / VGA: NVidia GeForce GT630
