Network Connection(Solved)

Postby Sgeo » Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:40 pm

My PC is connected to my Siemens Gateway receiving ADSL and has Widows xp as operating system. My laptop with Linux Helena as os is connected wirelessly. This works very well but occasionally I am unable to access the internet from my laptop and the only way to retrieve the connection is to shut down everything. As soon as the gateway is switched back on all is just fine. Why does this happen and why can I not reconnect by re entering my wep key?

In this case you need to restart the network. In Terminal type in the following without the quotes: "sudo network-manager restart"
